Chinkapin Oak
Quercus muehlenbergii

The Chinkapin Oak, commonly found in rocky, limestone soils, has tough, ridged bark and produces sweet acorns that are a favorite snack for wildlife. Its glossy green leaves turn a warm yellow in the fall. It can grow up to 80 feet tall, providing excellent shade and helping support a rich ecosystem!
